- I was delighted to join Framwellgate Moor Primary School as Assistant Head Teacher in 2022. It is a privilege and a pleasure to work with the children and parents of our lovely school. Growing up, I always wanted to be a teacher and gained my teaching degree at a local university. Since then I have taught children across the primary age range and developed a keen interest in educating early years children. When I am not in school I enjoy spending time with my children and going on adventures together. I am proud to be part of FMPS and strive to help our children be the best that they can be.

Mrs Burgess – Nursery Teacher
- Hello, my name is Mrs Burgess and I am the Nursery Teacher in Foundation Stage 1. I work in Butterflies alongside Caterpillars Nursery. I trained as an Early Years Teacher and my experience covers both Nursery and Reception. I have been teaching since end of 1992 and have worked in various schools in both Newcastle and Yorkshire before joining Framwellgate Moor Primary in 2004. I am passionate about working in the Early Years. In my role I feel privileged to be able to nurture young minds and help them make sense of their world in an environment where they feel safe, and happy to explore and learn. I love helping children make connections and being involved in new discoveries. I also enjoy getting to know the families that each child comes from. I myself have 3 grown up children. In school, I am the Art co-ordinator. I have been privy to our children’s artwork and have seen first hand how they enjoy being immersed in their art journey as they tackle them half-termly. Our children have spoken about how much they enjoy art lessons and are proud of what they have achieved. I love spending time outdoors- walking, birdwatching, visiting historical places as well as travelling both in the UK and abroad. My go to places will always be the beach or a forest. I also enjoy going on adventures in my van, and look forward to visiting the Scottish Isles.
Reception Class Teachers
Mrs Davison
- I joined Framwellgate Moor Primary School in 2022 and have taught in Nursery and Reception. I am in my sixth year of teaching with experience across all key stages. After doing an English degree I went on to complete a PGCE with qualified teacher status. I then went to work at a school in Cumbria, before moving to the North East and beginning my teaching journey at Framwellgate Moor. As well as teaching in Reception, I am the RE, PSHE and careers co-ordinator in school.
Miss Mallen
- I am a Reception teacher here at Framwellgate Moor Primary School and have been a part of this school for 10 years. Prior to becoming a teacher, I was a teaching assistant, and this is how my journey at FMPS first began. I hold teaching experience across all year groups, with a specialism in Key Stage 2 but have spent most of my time in the Early Years Foundation Stage. I am a general fresh air enthusiast with a penchant for all things environmentally friendly. Outdoor learning and Forest School is what I am most passionate about. Consequently, I take learning outside of the classroom at any given opportunity. I am also a Level 3 paediatric first aider. I am honoured to be able to support the learning process of children at Framwellgate Moor Primary School, with the aim of inspiring each to be the greatest version of themselves.

Mrs Brooks
- This is my 30th year of being a teacher and I started in Framwellgate Moor Primary School (Juniors) in 1996. I graduated from North Riding College, Scarborough (Leeds University) with BA in History with QTS. I am currently a teacher in Year 1 and 2 (Whales class) but have previously taught all ages from EYFS to Year 6. I co-ordinate DT and International work.
Miss Thompson
- I am going into my 6th year teaching and I have been at FMPS since qualifying. I have been a class teacher in KS1 (Year 1 and 2) for 5 years now and was previously in KS2. As well as a class teacher, I have taken on the role of subject leads in History, Geography, PE and Phonics. Before becoming a teacher, I have a sporting background specialising in gymnastics and dance and have a First-Class Honours degree in Dance. After graduating I taught dance, gymnastics/acro around various dance schools before becoming a supply teacher in a secondary school. After that years’ experience, I did my PGCE in Primary Education with a PE Specialism with North East Partnership SCIT
Miss Mackenzie
- I am going into my 6th year of teaching. I started Framwellgate Moor Primary School in 2023. I graduated Leeds Beckett University with a BA in Physical Education and completed my PGCE at Durham University. I am currently a teacher in Year 1 and 2 (Seals Class) but have previously worked in LKS2 and UKS2. As well as being a class teacher I currently lead RE, PSHE and careers throughout the school.
Year 3 & Year 4 Class Teachers
Miss Hardy
- I am currently a class teacher in Year 3 and 4. I’ve had the privilege of teaching at Framwellgate Moor Primary School for over 22 years. After graduating with honours in Education from Durham University in 2002, I joined this wonderful school and have been here ever since, teaching across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.In my role as PE Lead, I’ve had the opportunity to develop and deliver engaging physical education programs that encourage students to be active, healthy, and confident. After more than two decades in education, I still feel a deep sense of pride and joy in my work. Helping children fulfil their potential is what drives me every day, and I’m grateful to be part of such a vibrant school community.
Mrs Chadwick
- I gained a BA Geography (Hons) degree at the University of Leeds and completed my PGCE in Primary Education at Durham University. I now have 17 years of teaching experience, 16 of which have been spent at Framwellgate Moor Primary School. I am passionate about leading both the subjects of geography and history in school. I was also responsible for online safety and computing for many years. During my career, I have spoken at a number of conferences and ran workshops to support and advise educators across County Durham. I feel very proud to be part of such a vibrant, welcoming and supportive school community where we encourage every child to shine in their own unique way whilst showing care and respect for others. By taking a whole-child approach, my aim is to provide children with the foundation they need to become well-rounded, healthy and happy individuals, equipped with a solid education and essential life skills to help them reach their full potential.
Mrs Crampton
- Hello, my name is Gina Crampton and I have worked Framwellgatemoor Primary School for nine years, I currently teach in Key Stage 2, in Year 3 and 4 and I have previously taught in Key Stage 1, in Year 2 for four years. I aim to provide inclusive, engaging and enjoyable learning in order to support those I teach to reach their full potential and become successful learners beyond the classroom. Alongside my role as a class teacher, I am also the English Coordinator. I am passionate about this role, with a vision for developing a dynamic curriculum for English and deep commitment to fostering a love of reading and writing across the school.
Mrs Lewis
- It has been a pleasure to work at Framwellgate Moor Primary School since 2014 where I currently teach in Year 3 and Year 4. From a young age, it was always my passion to become a teacher and so I went on to gain my teaching degree at a local university. For several years now, I have worked as part of a team leading Maths across our school. I thoroughly enjoy the wide variety of subjects and experiences that primary education offers. My personal favourite subjects to teach are Art and Design and Technology. One of the most rewarding parts of my job is seeing children smile when they have worked hard and are really proud of themselves and their achievements.
Mr Dawson
- My name is Mr Dawson and I have been teaching in Primary Schools for a total of 4 years. I currently teach the Year 3/4 Orangutans class at Framwellgate Primary School, where I’m also part of the computing coordinator team. This is my third year at FMPS, and I have enjoyed seeing the progress of each and every pupil throughout my time here. I am passionate about making learning both engaging and enjoyable for everyone!
Year 5 Class Teachers
Mrs French
- I am one of the Year 5 teachers and have been teaching here since 2019. I taught in Year 1 and 2 for four years before moving to Year 5. I am part of the English Coordinator team, responsible for monitoring reading, writing, phonics and spoken language throughout the school. Before my teacher training began, I used to go back to my own primary school and volunteer each week to gain experience. I trained to be a teacher at Durham University where I specialised in English and had the opportunity to teach in China during my final year. Throughout my teaching training, I worked as a waitress at a local café in Durham.
Miss Robson
- This is my second year teaching in Year 5 at Framwellgate Moor Primary School. I am also part of the Music co-ordinator team. I have six wonderful years of teaching experience. I received my BA Hons Childhood Studies degree at The University of Sunderland and then I went on to complete my Primary Education PGCE (School Direct) at Northumbria University. I am very passionate about education and making learning fun!
Year 6 Class Teachers
Mr Anderson
- I’m Tom Anderson, and I’ve been teaching for 8 years. I currently teach Year Six at Framwellgate Primary School, where I’m also the Science Coordinator and oversee Educational Visits. This is my third year at Framwellgate, and I’m passionate about making learning both exciting and meaningful for my students.

Before joining Framwellgate, I spent 14 months teaching in Beijing, working as both a nursery and primary English teacher. This was followed by 6 months in Ho Chi Minh City, teaching English to Year 7-10 students. These international experiences gave me valuable insights into diverse teaching methods and helped shape my adaptable, student-centered approach.

At Framwellgate, I’m responsible for coordinating the Science curriculum, ensuring it’s engaging and accessible for all students.
My goal is to inspire my students through interactive learning experiences and help them develop a genuine curiosity about the world.
Mrs Crank-Field
- Hello, my name is Kelly Crank-Field and I have worked at Framwellgate Moor Primary School for 21 years as a TA, HLTA and a Teacher, in Early Years and Key Stage Two. I have a first-class honours degree in Primary Education Practice. I am the Computing subject lead at our school, responsible for overseeing and enhancing the computing curriculum, supporting teachers and integrating technology into pupils learning. My aim as a teacher here at Framwellgate Moor Primary School is to inspire every pupil to reach their full potential, fostering a love for learning, resilience and curiosity that will empower them to shine throughout their lives.

- I have been a teacher at Framwellgate Moor for around ten years and have had a variety of roles throughout the school including job-share, maternity leave cover and supply cover. I am the subject co-ordinator for Languages and Music, and I teach French during PPA time. After graduating from Durham University in 1990, I worked in London, Bedfordshire, Nottingham and at an international school in Saudi Arabia. I’m fortunate to have the opportunity to work with children from Reception to Year 6 and to contribute to them becoming confident learners.

Mrs Field
- This will be my 13th year here at FMPS, as a teaching assistant. I have worked within early years, KS1 and upper key stage 2. I have gained my Higher Level Teaching Assistants qualification whilst I have been here. I also have a Foundation Degree in Childcare and Education. As well as being a Teaching Assistant I also lead breakfast club each morning and I am part of the Phonics/English coordinating team.
Miss Truby
- Hi my name is Kathryn Truby and I work as a teaching assistant here at FMPS. I studied to be a teaching assistant in 2008 at New College Durham and obtained a Cache level 3 certificate. I did my placement at this school, and have continued to work here ever since, gaining excellent experience in supporting the children. I have worked in all year groups, from nursery to year 6 throughout my career, supporting children with various needs and abilities. On top of my role as a TA, I am also part of the maths co-ordinating team, which mostly involves supporting the maths lead to ensure consistency and progression in maths across the school. In addition to this, I am trained in paediatric first aid and I am the main first aider for key stage 2.
Mrs Heslop
- I have had the pleasure of working at Framwellgate Primary School for 13 years, where I started out as a parent helper. During this time I have worked with several year groups. I am currently working in the Butterflies Nursery as an enhanced teaching assistant, and I feel privileged to be part of the children's educational journey. I gained my Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification in 2013, and I am also a design and technology coordinator within our school. I feel honoured to be working in the school which my three children attended and I am passionate about inspiring and motivating our students to be the best version of themselves.

- I have worked at Framwellgate Moor Primary School since September 2021. I am a Teaching Assistant, currently working in Year 1 and 2. I am also part of the Science subject leader team. Before that I was a qualified teacher and have 16 years of experience of teaching across Early Years and Key Stage 1.
Miss Miller
- I am a Teaching Assistant in Grasshoppers and have been at Framwellgate Moor Primary School since 2021. I am also a part of the Breakfast club team and hold a qualification in Food Hygiene and First Aid. I previously worked in a private nursery and have been in a range of EYFS settings while training. My qualifications include a Cache Diploma in Early Years, a level 2 in Understanding Autism and I am currently studying a Foundation Degree in Childhood Studies. My previous Co-ordinators role was within computing but I currently work closely with the SENco and co-ordinate within SEND.
Mrs Moss
- I am currently a Teaching Assistant and lead of Grasshoppers provision and have been at Framwellgate Moor Primary School since 2022. I have 15 years of Teaching Assistant and Enhanced Teaching Assistant experience within mainstream and special schools. My qualifications include a Cache Diploma In Child Care and Education, a Foundation Degree in Education, A level 2 in Understanding Autism and I have Higher Level Teach Assistant status. My current Co-ordinators role is within SEND and working closely with our Depty Head and SENco Ruth Wilkinson.
Mrs Ryan
- I studied Primary Education at university and have worked as a teaching assistant for 9 years, the last 2 being at Framwellgate Moor Primary School. I love coming to work with such friendly, polite and motivated children, supported by a wonderful staff.
Mrs Bridle
- Hello, my name is Mrs Bridle and I am the room lead for Caterpillars. I have worked in childcare and Education for 11 years, I have a social work degree and I have specialised in Special Educational Needs prior to being at Framwellgate Moor Primary School. I love being part of every child’s journey and watching them grow and develop. I will ensure to keep them happy and safe while in our care at nursery. I have a little boy of my own, aged 6, and I remember how difficult it was leaving him at nursery at such a young age, so please be assured that we fully understand how you might be feeling as parents/carers, but we will do our very best to provide the best care and to make your children feel safe and secure when with us. I am so proud to be part of such an amazing team and excited to meet every child who we have the pleasure to have at our nursery.
Miss Pendleton
- I am currently working as a Teaching Assisstant in Framwellgate Moor Primary’s amazing Nursery team. I have been based within the butterfly room for 3 years. I love being a part of our children and their families educational journey making lots of amazing memories on our way. I am also part of our Geography and History co-ordinating team, working alongside KS1 and KS2 teachers. This has been a great opportunity to gain knowledge on these subjects across the school as a whole. Previously I was employed as a Senior Nursey Nurse within a private day nursery for 19 years, working with children from 6 weeks to 5 years old. I gained lots of knowledge and experience working with children and their families, and a wide variety of professionals.
Mrs Cowie
- I have had the pleasure of being a part of Framwellgate Moor Primary School for 3 years and for those 3 years I have been a part of our amazing Nursery team. I have 16 years experience of working with Children aged 0- 5 children and previously worked in the Private sector of Nursery as a room leader in which I gained a lot of experience. I am a P.E coordinatotor team within the school alongside KS1 and KS2 teachers and I really enjoy this role. I am passionate about supporting and shaping childrens minds as they take their journey through life.
Miss French
- Hi my name is Miss French, I have been working at Framwellgate Moor Primary school now for 2 years, previous to this I have worked in childcare for 14 years with a range of ages. I love getting to know each child, their family and their own individual personalities, I truly believe each child should be given their time to shine! I love watching the children as they grow, learn and achieve. I have a 4 year old boy of my own and know how much trust you put in us to ensure their well-being, learning, safety and needs are met. When I’m at home I enjoy going out on family adventures to different places such as farms, walks, the beach etc. I’m really looking forward to getting to know you all.

- I am currently a Teaching Assistant here in Reception at Framwellgate Moor Primary School. I started here as an apprentice in 2020 completing my Cache Diploma in Early Years Qualification whilst working between both our Caterpillar and Butterfly nurseries. After leaving briefly at the start of 2023 to a private nursery, I returned May 2023 and have been in Ladybirds in Reception ever since. I also hold a Paediatric First Aid Certificate.

- I began working with children when I started an apprenticeship in 2016, where I gained my level 3 diploma in supporting teaching and learning. I worked across various different year groups at my previous school before moving on to work in a nursery setting as a room leader. I have now been at FMPS since 2023, working across year 1&2 as a Teaching Assistant. I am passionate about working with children and love my role here at FMPS. It’s the most rewarding job to watch the children learn, grow and flourish under the care and guidance of our amazing team.
Miss Stevenson
- I am currently a Teaching Assistant in Grasshoppers. I started at Framwellgate Moor Primary School in 2020 where I completed my apprenticeship in Level 3 Early Years Childhood Cache Diploma. I then went to a private nursery where I gained further experience with children ages 0-5 before returning back to Framwellgate Moor Primary School in January 2024. I also have a Pediatric First Aid qualification.

- I graduated at the University of West London in 2014 with a buisness and marketing degree. For 11 years I worked at Tesco PLC in various positions starting in head office as a marketing apprentice, as well as working in other areas and as a store manager. In 2024 I completed my teaching course and hold a level 3 diploma in supporing teaching and learning. I am a mother of two beautiful boys and I enjoy spending time with my family, going for a long walks and play tennis and volleyball.

Miss Larcombe
- I am currently working towards my Level 3 teaching assistant qualification and I am working in Year 1 and 2 at the minute. I teach a phonics class, do 1 to 1 working with children (interventions) and support teachers in class with the children. I have almost completed my first year at Framwellgate Moor Primary School and have loved every minute. As well as working with year 1 and 2, I completed the majority of my first year in reception class. I have also worked briefly with years 3, 4 and also the caterpillar’s nursery. I completed two lots of my work experience within a primary school and this is when I decided it was the job for me. I studied art, food technology and history for my GCSEs and then went on to further study art at A Level along with psychology and sociology. I would love to further my education within teaching and gain higher level Teaching Assistant qualifications and a teaching degree at university.
Miss Aricci
- I am currently working as the Apprentice Teaching Assistant in the Orangutans class at Framwellgate Moor Primary School, and it has been an incredibly fulfilling role. I’m grateful to be able to support young children in their learning journey, helping them grow in confidence, and witnessing their daily achievements. I thrive on creating a positive and nurturing environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to reach their potential. This role has deepened my passion for education, and I am committed to further developing my skills to make a lasting impact. My background in administration has provided me with excellent organization and communication skills, which I now apply to ensure the classroom runs smoothly and efficiently. Working at Framwellgate Moor Primary School has been an incredible experience, and I am excited to continue making a difference in the lives of children while growing both personally and professionally in the education sector.
Miss Nicholson
- Hello, my name is Miss Nicholson and I am an apprentice at Famwellgate Moor Primary School. I enjoy building relationships with the children around me and being a part of their journey watching them grow. I have 3 younger siblings of my own and love doing activities with them, ensuring they are always keeping busy and helping them with their homework. It's always lovely to see the things they accomplish as they grow and i love being a part of that journey. I am so pleased to be a part of Framwellgate Moor Primary School and feel grateful to be a part of every child’s life, helping them in every way i can.
