Parish Councillor Peter Dawson
Parish Councillor Peter Dawson
I retired after 37 years teaching in a County Durham Secondary school latterly as an assistant head teacher with responsibilities for ICT, SIMS, Beginning teachers, NQT induction and assessment, departmental oversight, and timetabling.
I became a CEOP ambassador, an Assertive Discipline in service trainer, and served as a staff governor.
As well as being a parish councillor for six years, I have been a volunteer for AgeUK County Durham in various projects including Beat the Scammers, Dementia Friends, Intergenerational Programme, and Keep Warm in Winter.
I have been involved in Girls’ football for several teams in the area and developed a passion for local history. I also have an allotment.
I feel it is an honour and a privilege to be asked to join the governing body of this excellent school and look forward to learning how I can develop my skills to better serve the school.
