Today in D.T we have continued our work on structures. We have explored all of the safety procedures needed when working with wood and tools. Then we had a go at marking, measuring, using bench hooks and saws to cut our wood at 10cm intervals. We were extremely sensible and careful when using the tools and wood and are looking forward to sticking the wooden together and creating a wooden truss bridge.
We began our DT structures unit by testing different bridges and discussing how the weight was dispersed. The class built a beam and arch bridge first before creating their own designs.
